The first four rounds of the season on the Balearic island of
Mallorca were very successful. The Playa de Palma Ciclista
Mallorca gave out some great racing from some of the world’s top
It was fantastic to see Alejandro Valverde debut his World
Champion jersey at the events. Each race gave had a different
winner and a different kind of finish, from the tough mountain top
at Puig de Sant Salvador to the big bunch sprint, in front of a
huge crowd, on the seafront in Palma.
The series now moves the Netherlands for the Volta Limburg Classic on 6th April where a tough competition is expected on an upgraded route. 19 different "Helligen"are tackled, some more than once including the 9.5% gradient Gulperberg which is climbed four times!
After The Netherlands the series is off to the U.K. to ride
"Britain's Belgian Classic" the Rutland - Melton International
CiCLE Classic on the 28th April and then to the Chestnut Homes
Lincoln Grand Prix, one of Britain's oldest races, on 12th May.
