Circuito de Getxo is a Spanish cycling race held in Getxo, in the Basque Country.
It has been part of the UCI Europe Tour since 2005 with a class 1.1. Held at the end of July it coincides with the festival of San Ignacio and the festivities of the town.
The 185 kilometer race was established in 1924. It became Circuito de Getxo in 2001. Since 1987 it is organized by the S. C. Punta Galea.
The event it is also known as Memorial Ricardo Otxoa in memory of former cyclist Ricardo Otxoa, who died after a car hit him and his twin brother, Javier in early 2001.
it is one of the few races in Europe with an urban circuit format. It is a one-day classic raced on a flat urban circuit of 16.85 kilometres (with the only difficulty of the climb to Txomintxu, a ramp of just over 700 meters at the beginning of the circuit). In recent years there were 11 laps to complete a total distance of 185 kilometres, usually at a very high average speed.
